The Numb Man
Flashing lights and another hit off of the hookah make them feel alive. Just more another sensation to make the numb man feel.
One beer turns into who cares as long as the numbness disappears even for a moment.
The empty woman takes the stage.
Fantasies and what if’s fill the numb mans mind.
Anything to feel.
Music so loud they can fill it in their chest. Lights flashing and changing the color of their surroundings every few seconds.
The empty woman smiling at them as they dance making the numb feel like this dance is only for him.
The empty woman sits next to the numb man. Here’s my chance he thinks.
He holds the woman in a way to make him feel. Maybe to feel in control. Or maybe to feel affection he so longs for.
But in the morning the numb man wakes up to find that he is still numb.
Still longing to feel.
Finding himself going back to the empty woman in order to get rid of the overwhelming numbing.
Hoping.
Waiting.
Wishing to finally feel something worth feeling.
